NUESTRO SILENCIO SOLO FAVORECE A LOS VICTIMARIOS. Ricardo Ferrer Espinosa

The murder of Francisco Villalba
Álvaro Uribe Vélez and the slaughter of El Aro

Tuesday January 5, 2010, by Guillermo González Uribe

After the testimony offered last year to the Attorney General's Office and the Congress, was murdered on April 23, 2009.

Colombia on April 23, 2009.

The slaughter of El Aro was one of the cruelest perpetrated by paramilitaries during a week strolled freely through the area, committing atrocities against its people and their possessions: "With all the parsimony the case, and knowing that nothing will prevent its calculated butchery, hunted, tortured and vejaron his 17 victims, 42 of the 60 burned houses, stole 1,200 cattle and forced 702 residents to flee for their lives [ 3]. The accounts of the facts are shocking: dismemberment, rape, looting. Village shopkeeper, Marco Aurelio Areiza (64), tied, tortured him, he took the heart [4], eyes and testicles.

initial testimony Villalba and others were confirmed in the decision of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which condemned the Colombian State for the facts, that statement sums up the horror of paramilitary violence the country [5]. Even the statement notes that "Colombia acknowledged its international responsibility ... in view of the involvement of its agents in the facts."

cited texts that reconstruct the events they talk about how
urged support for Governor of Antioquia, and the army and police, but authorities did not help the people, and even "military members were herding cattle [6] stolen from the peasants.
This was part of the bloody paramilitary strategy to combat the guerrillas, stripped of property and land to farmers, landowners protect and take control of regions key to trafficking. The massacres in the villages of El Aro and La Granja municipality of Ituango, were committed in the struggle for development of the Nudo de Paramillo, vital for the domain area of \u200b\u200bthe department of Antioquia and the region, which was under the influence of guerrilla as recognized by the paramilitary leader Salvatore Mancuso own [7].
he also admitted that the paramilitaries are the children of the Colombian State, and received training and arms from the regular forces of the State [8]. This strategy found fertile ground for developing private cooperatives called Combivir, certified and endorsed in the department of Antioquia in the nineties, during the government of Alvaro Uribe [9].

Francisco Villalba, the protagonist of this story, studied up to fifth primary. Being a child of ten Dandenys met Muñoz Mosquera, alias The Quica, who became lord lieutenant of the most powerful that has existed in Colombia, Pablo Escobar Gaviria. When I was sixteen, the Quica sent him to work with Fidel Castro, one of the most bloodthirsty paramilitary [10]. Thereafter the history of Villalba is similar to other paramilitaries, murders, massacres, torture, betrayal.

Despite the reported, the news of the murder of Villalba would have no greater significance in a country taken over by violence. What makes it unique is that in their testimony linked the current president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Velez, with a slaughter.

Villalba told the prosecution it in February 2008 "[11] and then ratified before the Committee on Accusations of the House of Representatives in November of that year. On April 22, 2009, just months after his testimony before Congress, and when it had happened just a few days under house arrest, hired killers used guns with silencers [12] was murdered outside his home in the town La Estrella, attached to Medellin [13], when he was with his wife and daughter for four years.

Villalba says in his testimony before Congress [14] that the planned meeting at which action on the ring were present "Álvaro Uribe Santiago Uribe, Mr. Mancuso, Cobra, Noventa, Carlos Castaño, me, Junior and I had 22 men under my command. "

adds that after the killing, there was another meeting that paramilitary commanders as well as Mancuso and Carlos Castaño, and Santiago were Álvaro Uribe, and that the then governor of Antioquia "We and congratulated all of us. " He adds that the operation was to free several hostages, including Mario, a cousin of Alvaro Uribe. He also speaks of how governor's helicopter flew over the area during the slaughter. Affirms
Alvaro's brother, Santiago Uribe, is the owner of the paramilitary group the Twelve Apostles. Then refers to an alleged letter from him to President Alvaro Uribe, in which he retracts his accusations, but says that this letter is false: "I'm never going to back off, what I said I stay there, if I will kill ... kill me. "

also speaks of another letter to President Uribe, in which the paramilitary Junior Villalba said that was not the mastermind or supplies from the slaughter. In this regard, aka Cristian Barreto jail replied that they proposed several disprove their allegations, and the only one who accepted was Junior. "There is a contradiction of Mr. Junior. He said that I did not participate in the slaughter of El Aro. If I was not involved then why I am detained, first of all because I did recognize the families of the victims ... "he explains. When I said in the interview that there is no record helicopter flight of governance in the area during the days of action paramilitary, replies that this is from "the country's monopoly, the monopoly that wants to hide things and leave one as a liar like you're throwing lies, I have always called for international oversight ...."

One last quote from this document, after saying that was the subject of several attacks, Villalba adds: "... and kill me it will achieve to remain silent but will try later ... there are many hidden evidence that very will soon have (sic) out. "

is not easy to believe this testimony of Villalba but the facts generated by at least several questions:
If a witness was so exceptional that had been subjected to attacks and stated that they would kill him, why he was given house arrest without providing protection?
If you believed Villalba when he confessed the slaughter of El Aro, which is why the Colombian courts convicted him, along with Mancuso and Castano, why now gives credence to the letter another paramilitary in which asserts that Villalba had no control or involvement in the events? Why suddenly appears in
Presidency Republic, a letter purportedly from Villalba in ensuring that was not true what he said the president, but Villalba himself stresses that he did not write?
Why are widely available and gives credence to that letter, according to Noticias Uno research and opinion of a handwriting expert, but did not write Villalba another prisoner made through an intermediary to get the Presidency of the Republic? [15].

Why the defense says there is no evidence that the governor's helicopter was in the ring during the slaughter because does not appear in the records of governance, but also the testimony of Villalba, paramilitary leader Salvatore Mancuso said in its free version of the November 18, 2008 that "a helicopter flew the governor of Antioquia during the slaughter Aro [16 ].

Why Mancuso said the same statement that "... the then Secretary of Government of the governor of Antioquia, Pedro Juan Moreno, found out what would happen in the ring at a meeting he had with Carlos Castaño attended Tierralta Salvatore Mancuso, Córdoba, prior to slaughter. Moreno had asked Brown personally for an appointment to discuss Urabá Living of which was one (of) defenders in Antioquia "?

Who or who are accountable to the Colombian state for the $ 3,500 million American Court of Human Rights condemned him to pay the families of the victims of the massacre of El Aro and La Granja? [17]

The slaughter of El Aro is a case full of facts, coincidences, questions, patterns of behavior remains concerned.

defender human rights Jesús María Valle Jaramillo, who had repeatedly denounced paramilitary activity linked to the army in La Granja and El Aro, said the governor Alvaro Uribe Velez as "enemy armed forces" [18] and IV Brigade brought criminal charges against him. In his defense, Valle Jaramillo said:

"I always saw, and they reflected, he had as a tacit or overt behavior as negligent, cleverly plotted between the commander of the IV Brigade the police commander of Antioquia, Dr. Alvaro Uribe Velez, the doctor Pedro Juan Moreno and Carlos Castaño. All the power of self-defense groups has been strengthened by the support that this group has had with people linked to the government, the military establishment, the establishment policing Principals and ranchers and bankers of the department of Antioquia and the country "[19]. Shortly after making this statement, Jesus Maria Valle Jaramillo was murdered.

Finally, note that Salvatore Mancuso, one of those implicated in the testimony of Francisco Villalba, and who was extradited by President Uribe over a year to the United States, in an interview to Cambio magazine entitled 'Me extradited the truth, "says [20]:" If the paramilitaries, who were supposedly friends of the government, Mancuso , personal friend of Uribe
, I do this (extradite), do not you make the FARC, which assassinated president's father. " Mancuso's own words, mentioning himself in the third person as a friend betrayed by President Uribe. This relationship of "personal friend" of the maximum until recently commander of the paramilitaries and the president had not been recognized until now neither the president nor Mancuso.

"We are now overwhelmed by the reason of state that allows all: genocide, murder, bring to heel the intellectuals ... The State is the defense of the crime. The state promotes the crime justifies the crime ... The culture, which is the only man who could stop breathing and give some freedom, is devoured by the state. "
